Mission Bible Class

Songs

Overview

Songs are a great addition to any Bible class. Children love to sing, and so do adults! Singing is found throughout the Bible, whether Miriam’s song at the crossing of the Red Sea, David’s Psalms, or encouragement to sing praise to God in the epistles.

Songs are a beautiful expression of truth as well as the heart, and lyrics are actually stored in a different part of the brain than other types of information. Children will forget many details of lessons over time, but the songs you sing with children in class will often stay with them for the rest of their lives. All the more reason to sing!

You can choose songs that go with the theme of your lesson, or you can just let children sing their favourites.

These “how to” videos are made by volunteers to help you learn songs for teaching the Bible to children. These videos are intended to help teachers learn the songs, not to be played as a performance for the children.

Practice by singing along with the video until you feel confident enough to lead the song yourself with the children.

In addition to these traditional songs, you or the children you teach might like to make up original songs. Think about songs children in your town or village like to sing. How about songs in your local language?

Special Note About Songs on this Website: The volunteers in these training videos use traditional lyrics and tunes. Mission Bible Class does not claim to be the original composer or copyright holder.
